Quantity:
Augmentin/Amoxyclav (Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid) Antibiotic Sensitivity Discs are utilized for the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method to determine the antimicrobial susceptibility of bacterial cultures.
Product Specifications
• Antibiotic Content: Each disc is impregnatedwith 10mcg of Amoxyclav (Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid).
• Physical Properties: The discs are made from high-quality filter paper, measure 6 mm in diameter, and are clearly printed with the code "AMC 10" on both sides for easy identification.
• Packaging (5CT): The "5CT" designation refers to a pack containing 5 Cartridges (often for use in automatic disc dispensers), with each cartridge typically holding 50 discs, totalling 250 discs per pack.
• Media Compatibility: For standard susceptibility testing, Mueller Hinton Agar (M173) is the recommended medium.
Usage & Interpretation
• Incubation: Standard cultures are typically incubated at 35–37°C for 18–24 hours.
• Reading Results: Susceptibility is determined by measuring the diameter of the zone of inhibition (the clear area around the disc where bacteria cannot grow).
• Storage: Because Clavulanic acid is highly sensitive to heat and moisture, these discs must be stored at -20°C to +8°C in dry conditions
